2nd Draft of Music Video

This is the second draft of our music video. We completely re shot all of the performance shots as we felt that the performance was not delivered to its full potential in the first draft. We also shot a lot more of the chess scenes and tried to show some development using cut-aways of me being frustrated. We built this up to a climax where we smash the chess set. We also included shots with the guitar as it helped to add interest and emphasis to the performance, especially of the instrumental sections. Furthermore we included more fig rig shots to make the whole video more interesting. To fully complete our video we are going to shoot more of the chess scene as we still believe the narrative is not entirely clear, we are also going to shoot band performance shots for the instrumentals. These extra shots will prevent viewer fatigue from just watching me for the whole video.

Working on our 2nd Draft

Today we re-filmed all of the performance shots with me to make sure they truly emphasised the performance and make the video exciting. To do this I put more effort into my performance so it looked like I was actually singing and we moving shots with tracking and panning to add to make it more dynamic.

New Shots (Chess Scene Development)

Today we added some more shots to our music video, we wanted to make the chess scene develop so the there was no viewer fatigue when watching. Fortunately this has made a big difference to the video and it is already much more interesting. However we still need to add band performance shots and we are going to re-shoot the singing shots so they look more realistic and add emphasis to the performance.

Ancillary Task Draft 2

In my second draft of the ancillary task we worked on some of the criticism made by our peers. We added extra details to make our digipack and advert more realistic. For example we added a release date and promoted some of the singles on the advert. On our digipack we added a barcode, copyright details and the record label. We also changed the variation and used the red hair for the back cover instead of the pavement. Also we changed our artist to a band called 'Sky Delerium', so now we must include band shots on the digipack so it is clear to the audience it is a band.

Working on Ancillary and Music Video

Today we worked on adding extra details to our ancillary task so the advert and digipack looked more legitimate. We also realised that our footage was not full HD, so we re-imported all of it properly so that quality of the video is much higher. This had made a big difference and our music video already looks much more professional.

Music Video 1st Draft

This is the first draft of my music video. In the video it includes several performance shots using the formula in the same location but with different props, it includes several slow motion cut aways and it is beginning to develop a chess game narrative. However at the moment the music video doesn't really develop much and after a while can be quite boring. We still need to add band performance shots to the video which should spice up the instrumental sections between each verse. We are also going to include more dynamic moving shots of the performance because that will add interest and emphasis to the video. Furthermore we are going to make sure we make the chess narrative develop into a tense game where are lead singer gets frustrated with his oponent. We are also going to play around with the lighting to really highlight the performance. Our music video is quite long so our main focus is to keep the viewer interested throughout.

Ancillary Task Feedback Video

Our feedback states that because there is a girl on the front cover they are confused as to whether that is the artist or not. As a group we have decided to change our artist to a band and on the inside covers instead of a solo artist we are going to have band photos. Furthermore we still need to add extras to our covers including record labels, copyrigtht deatails, barcode etc. We think our main concept of our digipack looks legitmate enough we just need to add everything that will make it look like an authentic cover.
